Opening provincial government building Friesland in Leeuwarden

Tuesday the 22nd of May the new provincial government building was opened by Her Majesty the Queen.

In the design for the new provincial government building in the city centre of Leeuwarden, on the site of the existing provincial government building, the original eighteenth-century building elements and the nineteenth-century council chamber were retained and integrated in the new construction. A new building was need because the existing one was too small and no longer met present-day requirements.
