Soeters Van Eldonk architecten is not only a place where architecture is debated and philosophised about, our philosophy and concepts are based on a sound practice of actual design, drawing and implementation. Whether it concerns the design of a new Ministry or the renovation of a small residence - every client is equally important to us. It's not only about the euphoria of the first sketches; the process, the elaboration, down to the choice of the very last bolt, all are essential. From sketch to working drawing, from design consultation to supervising construction: 'We are just your humble architect.' |

We look for a surprising and fitting answer to every demand and for every situation. For this reason we find it absolutely impossible to build in a single style. As a result, the architecture of Soeters Van Eldonk architecten is multilingual by definition: sometimes historical, sometimes symbolic and sometimes quasi-modern. Buildings need to constantly restate the functions they accommodate in new and different ways. A library has a different appearance to an entertainment centre; a theatre has other requirements than a healthcare museum. Architecture parlante is the ideal means to give buildings their own identity and to make them legible to a wider public - not just to architects. |

Throughout all the processes we not only listen, but time and again we try to convince our clients of our ideas and plans. Though we always fiercely defend our plans, we realise that sometimes it is better to completely adjust them or start from scratch when too many problems remain unsolved. In this way, we succeed in realising plans that not just we, but particularly our clients, believe in. With a constant critical attitude towards our own designs, with stamina, precision and intelligence - and without ever compromising on quality - we strive to escape the dogmatic without losing sight of our own basic principles. |
